Our summer season has been very successful. Thanks to new walk leaders we have seen different places - eg. Dobb Park and Hoveringham. So many interesting places around us, and most within a 10 mile radius of Arnold. In August we went to Belper where we were met by the sister of one of our members. She guided us around the historical areas of Belper and on to an old cottage for tea and buns. The cottage is visited by schoolchildren as part of their studies and, we were told, a film company was coming. An enjoyable and interesting day. and all for free - we went by bus.

Veronica continues to arrange Explorer Walks using local bus services and the National Bus pass will enable us to go further afield from other town centres eg Chesterfield to Chatsworth. We appreciate the time and effort she gives to these "extras" for the club.

Our thanks also to Phil who arranges our annual river trip on the St John Crusader. Always a popular event. Some of our members are no longer able to participate in the walks but wish to maintain contact with the Club. Heather now organises social walks and activities for those people and are much appreciated. Thank you Heather and to all of you for making the Golden Ambers so successful. Rita.
