Here we are on the verge of summer and really looking forward to some better weather. Although to be fair, Mondays this year have generally been kind to us - winds yes, but the rain has largely kept away. Except the day we went to Portland Park - we got caught in a hailstorm - now that was novel. But offset by wonderful signs of spring - a chaffinch singing his heart out - attracting a mate no doubt. Beautiful swathes of white wood anemones - absolutely gorgeous. Trees in bud and other, unidentified, new growth emerging. All leading to the subsequent wonderful colours of summer. A walk around Watnall from the IKEA car park was new, as was Ripley, by bus, Blidworth and Bulwell Common. So much and so accessible. We are very lucky. Our walk leaders continue to explore new routes, so we get a good mix of new and familiar favourites. Our thanks for the time and effort they put in. Our new programme is published here, so if you see something you fancy, come and give us a try. Rita. And coming up..... Our programme, shown opposite, includes a visit to an old favourite - Rufford Abbey and grounds.
