Below is a list of things that has happened since the forum has begun.

Young People including Redhill performing arts and Steel (a Community project)

The Forum held an Intergenerational conference in February to bring together the old and young, talk about their differences and suggest ways of encouraging better interaction between generations......What has it done?

The Forum was the initial driving force behind Arnold Carnival.
It has organized theme days and street entertainment.

An Arnold Business Forum was set up to channel energies and focus on commercial
issues in the town. Campaigns for CCTV and town centre manager resulted.

Projects seeking better youth facilities and a youth forum continue to be pursued.

The Golden Eagles (over 50’s) group has been established along with Golden Amblers walking group.
A Useful contact information leaflet has been prepared for older people.

Arnold In Bloom was launched and attained a highly commended rating in the
Britain in Bloom competition, introducing planters, hanging baskets and community environmental improvements. With “Bloom” entry suspended during work on the Park, the group launched its Flourishing Arnold competition, which now looks like an annual event.

Arnold LAF now produces its own newsletter 4 times per year which
is full of local articles by groups in Arnold.
The forum also gave birth to the “Eagle” monthly news magazine,
which now operates independently.

The forum is currently considering its future role and priorities, and how it can
contribute to the Community Plan produced by the strategic Gedling Partnership that covers
the whole Borough. Your views will be welcome.

Our mascot “Arnie the Eagle” is often seen around Arnold supporting
activities of the Forum and its partners.
